So, in the middle of everything today, we ran across a hellaciously distressed momma mallard and a bunch of her baby ducks that had fallen down a sewer grate. Another guy was already trying to fish them out, so my friend and I called animal control before we tried to fish the rest of them out. When Animal Control got there, we had all of them out and the mother duck quacking very happily. I was surprised - none of us got snapped at or hurt. I was even holding onto a bag at one point that had all of them in it and she just watched me.

I love how the duck is perched on the guy’s butt

Some days everyone needs a story with a happy ending. And baby ducks.

(The “duck sits on someone’s butt” is an added bonus.)

While thumbing through the manuscript in July 2011, Emir O. ***Pomander - a ball made of perfumes, such as ambergris (whence the name),musk, or civet. The pomander was worn or carried in a vase, also known by the same name, as a protection against infection in times of pestilence or merely as a useful article to modify bad smells. The globular cases which contained the pomanders were hung from a neck-chain or belt, or attached to the girdle, and were usually perforated and made of gold or silver. Sometimes they contained several partitions, in each of which was placed a different perfume.

This is what makes this particular show good drama - discernible character growth. It’s really well written and after the first couple of shows I checked to see if writer Robert Doherty had written any books. Not that I could find. Dammit.

After seeing the film: The Running. There is a lot more running than you’d think. And no one makes a joke about needing to do more pre-adventure jogging in order to prepare for all the running. (Also you can’t help but wonder how many takes they had to film The Running shots because you know there were multiples.)
